Psalms 83:1-18A Prayer Against Enemies

Ps.83.1-18
1A song, a psalm of Asaph. 2O God, do not be silent; do not hold your peace; do not be still , O God. 3For behold, your enemies are in tumult, and those who hate you have lifted up their heads. 4Against your people they craft a secret plot, and they consult together against those you shelter. 5They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation, so that the name of Israel may be remembered no more.” 6For with one heart they have taken counsel together; against you they make a covenant: 7the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites, 8Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre. 9Assyria also has joined them; they have become an arm for the sons of Lot. Selah 10Do to them as to Midian, as to Sisera and Jabin at the brook Kishon, 11who were destroyed at En-dor, who became dung for the ground . 12Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, and all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, 13who said, “Let us possess for ourselves the pastures of God.” 14O my God, make them like tumbleweed, like stubble before the wind. 15As fire burns a forest, and as a flame sets the mountains ablaze, 16so pursue them with your tempest, and terrify them with your storm. 17Fill their faces with shame, so that they may seek your name, O LORD. 18Let them be ashamed and dismayed forever; let them be humiliated and perish.
