Psalms 116:1-19 — Thanksgiving for Deliverance
Ps.116.1-19
1I love Yahweh, because he hears my voice, my pleas for mercy. 2Because he has inclined his ear to me, I will call on him all my days. 3The cords of death surrounded me, and the straits of Sheol overtook me; I found distress and sorrow. 4Then I called on the name of Yahweh: “Please, Yahweh, rescue my life!” 5Yahweh is gracious and righteous; our God is compassionate. 6Yahweh preserves the simple; I was brought low, and he saved me. 7Return to your rest, my soul, for Yahweh has dealt bountifully with you. 8For you have delivered my life from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling. 9I will walk before Yahweh in the land of the living. 10I believed, therefore I spoke : “I am greatly afflicted.” 11I said in my alarm, “Every human being is a liar.” 12What shall I return to Yahweh for all his benefits to me? 13I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of Yahweh. 14I will pay my vows to Yahweh in the presence of all his people. 15Precious in Yahweh's sight is the death of his faithful ones. 16Please, Yahweh, for I am your servant; I am your servant, the son of your maidservant. You have loosed my bonds. 17To you I will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of Yahweh. 18I will pay my vows to Yahweh in the presence of all his people. 19In the courts of Yahweh's house, within your midst, Jerusalem . Praise Yah!
