Psalms 41:1-13A Prayer in Sickness

Ps.41.1-13
1For the choirmaster . A psalm of David. 2Blessed is the one who gives thought to the poor; in the day of trouble the LORD will deliver him. 3The LORD will guard him and keep him alive; he will be called blessed in the land. Do not hand him over to the desire of his enemies. 4The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore his whole bed. 5As for me, I said, 'O LORD, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against you.' 6My enemies speak evil against me: 'When will he die, and his name perish?' 7If one comes to see me, he speaks falsehood; his heart gathers wickedness within itself; then he goes outside and tells it. 8All who hate me whisper together against me; against me they plot evil. 9'A deadly thing has been poured out on him; now that he lies down, he will never rise again.' 10Even my close friend, in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted his heel against me . 11But you, O LORD, be gracious to me and raise me up, that I may repay them. 12By this I know that you delight in me: because my enemy does not triumph over me. 13As for me, you uphold me in my integrity, and set me in your presence forever .
