Psalms 52:1-9 — The Fate of the Wicked
Ps.52.1-9
1For the choirmaster. A Maskil of David. 2When Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said to him, “David has come to the house of Ahimelech.” 3Why do you boast of evil, O mighty man? The steadfast love of God endures all day long. 4Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharpened razor, working deceit. 5You love evil more than good, falsehood more than speaking righteousness. Selah 6You love all devouring words, O deceitful tongue. 7God will likewise break you down forever; He will snatch you up and tear you away from your tent, and uproot you from the land of the living. Selah 8The righteous will see and fear, and they will laugh at him, saying, 9“Behold the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his wealth, and relied on his destruction .”
