Psalms 107:1-43Thanksgiving for Deliverance

Ps.107.1-43
1Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. 2Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, those whom he redeemed from the hand of the foe, 3and gathered from the lands, from east and from west, from north and from south . 4They wandered in the wilderness, in a desolate way; they found no city to dwell in. 5Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted within them. 6Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distresses. 7He led them by a straight way, until they came to a city to dwell in. 8Let them give thanks to the LORD for his steadfast love and for his wondrous works to the children of man. 9For he satisfied the longing soul, and the hungry soul he filled with good things. 10Those dwelling in darkness and deep darkness, prisoners in affliction and irons, 11for they had rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of the Most High. 12So he humbled their hearts with toil; they stumbled, and there was none to help. 13Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distresses. 14He brought them out of darkness and deep darkness and tore apart their bonds. 15Let them give thanks to the LORD for his steadfast love and for his wondrous works to the children of man. 16For he shattered doors of bronze and cut down bars of iron. 17Fools, because of the way of their transgression and because of their iniquities, suffered affliction. 18Their soul abhorred every kind of food, and they drew near to the gates of death. 19Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distresses. 20He sent his word and healed them, and rescued them from their destruction . 21Let them give thanks to the LORD for his steadfast love and for his wondrous works to the children of man. 22Let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving and declare his deeds with joyful singing. 23Those who go down to the sea in ships, doing business on great waters, 24they saw the works of the LORD and his wonders in the deep. 25For he spoke and raised up a storm wind, which lifted up its waves. 26They went up to the heavens, they went down to the depths; their soul melted away in their trouble. 27They reeled and staggered like a drunkard, and all their wisdom came to nothing. 28Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he brought them out from their distresses. 29He made the storm be still, and its waves were hushed. 30Then they were glad that they were quiet, and he guided them to the harbor they desired. 31Let them give thanks to the LORD for his steadfast love and for his wondrous works to the children of man. 32Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people, and praise him in the council of the elders. 33He turns rivers into a wilderness, and springs of water into thirsty ground, 34a fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the evil of those who dwell in it. 35He turns a wilderness into a pool of water, and dry land into springs of water. 36There he causes the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city to live in. 37They sow fields and plant vineyards, and gather a fruitful yield. 38He blesses them, and they multiply greatly; he does not let their cattle diminish. 39Then they were diminished and brought low through oppression, calamity, and sorrow. 40He pours contempt on nobles and makes them wander in a trackless waste. 41But he sets the needy on high from affliction and makes their families like a flock. 42The upright see it and rejoice, and all injustice shuts its mouth. 43Whoever is wise, let him heed these things and consider the acts of steadfast love of the LORD.
