Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using BibleCollab (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Description of Service
BibleCollab is a collaborative Bible translation platform that enables community review and improvement of Bible translations. The platform provides AI-generated initial drafts, editor tools for revision, and discussion features for community feedback.
User Accounts
You must provide a valid email address to register. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You may not impersonate others or use misleading display names. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
User Content & Licensing
All translation contributions (comments, suggestions, edits) submitted to BibleCollab are released under CC0 1.0 Universal (Public Domain Dedication). By submitting content, you agree that your contributions become part of a copyright-free Bible translation. You retain no exclusive rights over submitted translations. To the extent permissible by law, you also waive any moral rights in your contributions. This is indicated in the relevant submission flows.
Acceptable Use
You agree to: be respectful and constructive in discussions, not post spam, profanity, or inappropriate content, aim for faithful representation of the biblical text in contributions, respect the copyright-free goals of this project, and not attempt to circumvent security measures or abuse the platform.
Intellectual Property
The BibleCollab platform software is proprietary. Bible translation outputs are CC0 (public domain). Reference data (Hebrew/Greek source texts, lexical data) is used under their respective licenses (Public Domain, CC BY 4.0, CC BY-SA 4.0) as documented on the About page.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI-generated translations or user contributions. The platform is a collaborative tool, not a definitive theological authority.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violations of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via the profile page. Upon deletion, your personal data will be anonymized, but your public contributions (released under CC0) will remain.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BibleCollab and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BibleCollab and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your contributions, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights, including but not limited to intellectual property rights.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action.
Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We may notify users of significant changes via on-site announcements or email.
