Psalms 64:1-10A Prayer for Protection

Ps.64.1-10
1For the choirmaster . A Psalm of David. 2Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from the dread of the enemy. 3Hide me from the secret plot of evildoers, from the noisy tumult of the workers of iniquity, 4who sharpen their tongue like a sword, and aim their arrow—a bitter word— 5to shoot from hiding places at the innocent; suddenly they shoot at him and do not fear. 6They encourage themselves with an evil word; they discuss in order to hide snares secretly; they say, “Who will see them?” 7They devise injustices, saying, “We have completed a well-devised plan!” For the inward part of man and the heart are deep . 8But God will shoot them with an arrow; suddenly they will be wounded. 9They will be made to stumble, their own tongue turned against them; all who look upon them will shake their heads in scorn. 10Then all mankind will fear, and they will declare the work of God, and they will ponder what He has done.
