Psalms 45:1-17A Royal Wedding Song

Ps.45.1-17
1For the choirmaster. According to Lilies. Of the sons of Korah. A Maskil. A love song. 2My heart overflows with a noble theme; I address my verses to the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful scribe. 3You are the most handsome of the sons of men; grace is poured upon your lips; therefore God has blessed you forever. 4Strap your sword on your thigh, O mighty warrior, in your splendor and your majesty! 5And in your majesty ride forth victoriously, for the cause of truth, humility, and righteousness; let your right hand teach you awesome deeds! 6Your arrows are sharp; peoples fall under you; they pierce the heart of the king's enemies. 7Your throne, O God , is forever and ever; the scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of justice. 8You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of joy above your companions. 9All your garments are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; from ivory palaces stringed instruments make you glad. 10Daughters of kings are among your honored women; at your right hand stands the queen in gold of Ophir. 11Listen, O daughter, consider and incline your ear: forget your people and your father's house, 12and the king will desire your beauty. Since he is your lord, bow down to him. 13The daughter of Tyre will come with a gift; the richest of the people will seek your favor. 14The princess is all glorious within her chamber; her clothing is interwoven with gold. 15In embroidered garments she is led to the king; her virgin companions following her are brought to you. 16With joy and gladness they are led along; they enter the palace of the king. 17In place of your fathers will be your sons; you will appoint them as princes in all the earth.
