Luke 9:1-9Jesus Sends Out the Twelve

Luke.9.1-9
1After he had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 2And he sent them out to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick . 3And he said to them, "Take nothing for the journey—neither a staff, nor a bag, nor bread, nor money, nor have two tunics each. 4"And whatever house you enter, stay there, and leave from there. 5“And whoever does not welcome you, when you leave from that city, shake the dust off your feet as a testimony against them.” 6So they set out and went through the villages, preaching the good news and healing everywhere. 7Now Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening, and he was thoroughly perplexed, because it was being said by some that John had been raised from the dead, 8and by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that a certain prophet of ancient times had risen. 9And Herod said, “John I beheaded; but who is this about whom I hear such things?” And he kept seeking to see him.
