Luke.22.54-62

⁵⁴Having seized him, they led him away and brought him into the house of the High Priest. But Peter was following at a distance. ⁵⁵When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter was sitting among them. ⁵⁶A servant girl saw him sitting in the firelight, and looking intently at him, she said, “This man also was with him.” ⁵⁷But he denied it, saying, “Woman, I do not know him.” ⁵⁸A little while later, another person saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not.” ⁵⁹After about one hour had passed, another man insisted, saying, “Truly this man also was with him, for he is a Galilean.” ⁶⁰But Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are saying.” And immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed. ⁶¹And the Lord turned and looked straight at Peter, and Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, “Before a rooster crows today , you will deny me three times.” ⁶²And having gone outside , he wept bitterly.
