Luke.16.19-31

¹⁹There was a rich man who dressed in purple and fine linen and feasted splendidly every day. ²⁰And a beggar named Lazarus had been laid at his gate, covered with sores. ²¹He longed to be filled with what fell from the rich man's table . But even the dogs came and licked his sores. ²²Now it happened that the beggar died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom . The rich man also died and was buried. ²³And in Hades , being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in Abraham's bosom. ²⁴And he cried out, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this flame.' ²⁵But Abraham said, 'Child , remember that you received in full your good things in your life, and Lazarus likewise bad things. But now he is comforted here, while you are in agony.' ²⁶And besides all this, a great chasm has been fixed between us and you, so that those who want to cross from here to you cannot, nor can any cross from there to us.' ²⁷And he said, 'Then I ask you, father, to send him to my father's house,' ²⁸'for I have five brothers, so that he may warn them solemnly, so that they too may not come to this place of torment.' ²⁹But Abraham said, 'They have Moses and the prophets ; let them listen to them.' ³⁰But he said, 'No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent.' ³¹But he said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone rises from the dead.'
