Luke 2:1-20The Birth of Jesus

Luke.2.1-20
1Now it happened in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus for all the inhabited world to be registered. 2This registration first took place when Quirinius was governing Syria. 3And all were going to register, each to his own city. 4Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family line of David. 5He went to register with Mary, who was betrothed to him and was pregnant. 6And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. 7And she gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the guest room . 8And in that same region there were shepherds staying out in the open fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. 9And an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. 10And the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” 11For today, in the city of David, a Savior has been born for you, who is Christ the Lord. 12And this will be the sign for you: you will find the baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." 13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying, 14“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among people on whom his favor rests .” 15And when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds were saying to one another, “Let us go now to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16And they went in haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in the manger. 17And when they saw it, they made known the thing that had been spoken to them about this child. 18And all who heard it marveled at what had been told them by the shepherds. 19But Mary was treasuring up all these things, pondering them in her heart. 20And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as it had been told them.
