Luke 23:50-56 — The Burial of Jesus
Luke.23.50-56
50And behold, there was a man named Joseph, a council member, a good and righteous man. 51He had not consented to their plan and action. He was from Arimathea, a city of the Jews, and he was waiting for the kingdom of God . 52This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 53After taking him down, he wrapped him in a linen cloth and placed him in a tomb cut in rock, where no one had yet been laid. 54It was the Preparation Day, and the Sabbath was beginning. 55The women who had come with him from Galilee followed and saw the tomb and how his body had been placed. 56After returning, they prepared spices and ointments . And on the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.
