Luke 6:43-49 — A Tree and Its Fruit; The Wise and Foolish Builders
Luke.6.43-49
43For no good tree produces bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree produce good fruit. 44For each tree is known by its own fruit. For people do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a bramble bush. 45The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth what is good, and the evil one out of the evil brings forth what is evil ; for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. 46But why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? 47Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like. 48He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood occurred, the river crashed against that house, and could not shake it, because it was well built . 49But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation, against which the river crashed, and immediately it collapsed, and the ruin of that house was great.
