Matthew 24:1-14 — Olivet Discourse: Signs of the End

Matt.24.1-14

¹As Jesus went out from the temple and was going on his way, his disciples came to him to point out to him the temple buildings. ²He answered them, 'Do you see all these things? Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left upon another that will not be torn down.' ³As he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately and said, 'Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age ?' ⁴Jesus answered them, 'See that no one leads you astray.' ⁵For many will come in my name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray. ⁶You will hear of wars and reports of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must happen , but the end is not yet. ⁷For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. ⁸But all these things are the beginning of birth pains. ⁹Then they will hand you over to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all the nations because of my name. ¹⁰And then many will fall away, and they will betray one another and hate one another. ¹¹And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. ¹²And because lawlessness is multiplied, the love of many will grow cold. ¹³But the one who endures to the end will be saved. ¹⁴And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
