Matthew 21:1-11The Triumphal Entry

Matt.21.1-11
1When they drew near to Jerusalem and came to Bethphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, 2saying to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me. 3And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, 'The Lord has need of them,' and he will send them immediately." 4Now this took place so that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled, saying, 5“Say to the daughter of Zion, 'Behold, your King comes to you, gentle and mounted on a donkey, and on a colt , the foal of a beast of burden.'” 6Then the disciples went and did just as Jesus directed them. 7They brought the donkey and the colt, and laid the cloaks on them, and he sat on them. 8And the very great crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others were cutting branches from the trees and spreading them on the road. 9And the crowds going before him and those following were crying out, saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” 10And when he had entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred, saying, “Who is this?” 11And the crowds were saying, “This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.”
