Matt.17.24-27
24When they came to Capernaum, those who collected the didrachma tax came to Peter and said, “Does your teacher not pay the didrachma tax?” 25He said, “Yes.” When Peter came into the house , Jesus spoke first to him and said, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive customs or tax? From their own sons or from others?” 26When Peter said, “From others,” Jesus said to him, “Then the sons are free.” 27But so that we may not cause them to stumble , go to the sea , cast a hook, and take the first fish that comes up. When you open its mouth, you will find a stater . Take it and give it to them for me and for you."
