Acts 14:8-20In Lystra and Derbe

Acts.14.8-20
8In Lystra a certain man disabled in his feet was sitting, lame from his mother's womb , who had never walked. 9This man was listening to Paul speaking. Paul, looking intently at him and seeing that he had faith to be healed, 10said with a loud voice, “Stand upright on your feet!” And he leaped up and began to walk. 11When the crowds saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in Lycaonian, “The gods have become like men and have come down to us!” 12They called Barnabas Zeus, and Paul Hermes, because he was the chief speaker. 13And the priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city , brought bulls and wreaths to the gates, wanting to offer a sacrifice with the crowds. 14But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, crying out 15and saying, "Men, why are you doing these things? We too are men with the same nature as you, bringing you good news that you should turn from these worthless things to the living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and everything in them. 16In past generations he allowed all the nations to go their own ways. 17Yet he did not leave himself without witness, doing good by giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness." 18Even saying these things, they scarcely stopped the crowds from sacrificing to them. 19But Jews arrived from Antioch and Iconium, and having won over the crowds, they stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, supposing that he was dead. 20But when the disciples surrounded him, he rose up and entered the city. And the next day he went out with Barnabas to Derbe.
