Acts 10:24-48Peter at Cornelius's House

Acts.10.24-48
24On the next day he entered Caesarea. Cornelius was expecting them, having called together his relatives and his close friends. 25When Peter entered, Cornelius met him, fell at his feet, and bowed down before him. 26But Peter raised him up, saying, “Stand up; I myself am also a man.” 27As he talked with him, he went in and found many gathered together. 28And he said to them, “You yourselves know how improper it is for a Jewish man to associate with or visit a foreigner; yet God has shown me that I should call no person common or unclean.” 29Therefore, when I was sent for, I came without objection. So I ask, for what reason did you send for me?" 30Cornelius said, "Four days ago, up to this hour, I was praying in my house at the ninth , and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, 31and said, 'Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your alms have been remembered before God. 32Therefore send to Joppa and summon Simon who is called Peter. He is staying in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea .' 33So I sent for you at once, and you have done well to come. Now therefore we are all here before God to hear everything that has been commanded you by the Lord." 34Then Peter began to speak: "Truly I understand that God shows no favoritism, 35but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. 36As for the message that he sent to the children of Israel, proclaiming good news of peace through Jesus Christ—he is Lord of all— 37you yourselves know the matter that took place throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John proclaimed: 38Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with him. 39And we are witnesses of all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They also put him to death by hanging him on a tree. 40God raised him on the third day and granted that he should become visible, 41not to all the people, but to witnesses who had been chosen beforehand by God—to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that this is the one appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead. 43To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name." 44While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell on all who were hearing the message. 45And the believers from among the circumcised who had come with Peter were astonished, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles. 46For they were hearing them speaking in tongues and magnifying God. Then Peter answered, 47“Can anyone withhold the water so that these should not be baptized—these who received the Holy Spirit just as we did?” 48So he commanded them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ . Then they asked him to stay for some days.
