Acts 7:54-8:1The Stoning of Stephen

Acts.7.54-8.1
54Now hearing these things, they were deeply enraged in their hearts and gnashed their teeth at him. 55But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 56And he said, “Look, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” 57But crying out with a loud voice, they covered their ears and rushed at him with one mind. 58And driving him out of the city, they began to stone him. And the witnesses laid aside their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59As they were stoning Stephen, he called out and said, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” 60Then falling to his knees, he cried out with a loud voice, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” And having said this, he fell asleep .
Chapter 8
1(Now Saul was approving of his execution.) On that day a great persecution began against the church in Jerusalem, and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.
