Acts 28:17-31Paul Preaches at Rome

Acts.28.17-31
17Now it happened after three days that he called together the leading men of the Jews. When they had come together, he said to them, "Brothers, although I have done nothing against the people or our ancestral customs, I was handed over as a prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans, 18who, having examined me, wanted to release me, because there was no cause for death in me. 19But when the Jews objected, I was compelled to appeal to Caesar—not that I had any charge to bring against my own nation. 20For this reason, therefore, I have asked to see you and speak with you, for it is because of the hope of Israel that I am wearing this chain." 21And they said to him, "We have neither received letters from Judea concerning you, nor has any of the brothers arrived and reported or spoken anything evil about you. 22But we consider it appropriate to hear from you what you think; for concerning this sect, it is known to us that it is spoken against everywhere." 23Having set a day for him, they came to him at his lodging in greater numbers. From morning until evening, he explained the matter to them, testifying to the Kingdom of God and persuading them concerning Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets. 24And some were persuaded by what was said, but others refused to believe. 25Disagreeing with one another, they began to leave after Paul had spoken one final word: "The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers , 26saying, 'Go to this people and say: “You will indeed hear but never understand; and you will indeed see but never perceive.” 27For the heart of this people has grown callous, and with their ears they barely hear, and they have closed their eyes; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn back, and I would heal them.' 28Therefore let it be known to you that this salvation of God has been sent to the Gentiles; they will also listen." 30He stayed two whole years in his own rented quarters, and welcomed all who came to him, 31proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness, unhindered.
