Isaiah 14:24-32Prophecy Against Assyria and Philistia

Isa.14.24-32
24The LORD of Hosts has sworn, saying: "Surely, just as I have intended, so it will be, and just as I have purposed, so it will stand, 25to break Assyria in my land, and I will trample him on my mountains. Then his yoke will be removed from them, and his burden will be removed from their shoulders." 26This is the plan purposed for the whole earth, and this is the hand stretched out over all the nations. 27For the LORD of Hosts has purposed, and who can thwart it? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back? 28In the year that King Ahaz died , this oracle came: 29Do not rejoice, all of Philistia, that the rod that struck you is broken; for from the root of the snake a viper will come forth, and its fruit will be a fiery flying serpent. 30The firstborn of the poor will graze, and the needy will lie down in safety; but I will kill your root with famine, and it will slay your remnant. 31Wail, O gate! Cry out, O city! Melt away, all of Philistia! For smoke comes from the north, and there is no straggler in its ranks. 32What will one answer the envoys of the nation ? “The LORD has founded Zion, and in her the afflicted of his people will take refuge.”
