Ezekiel 37:15-28 — One Nation Under One King

Ezek.37.15-28

¹⁵The word of YHWH came to me, saying : ¹⁶"And you, son of man, take one stick and write on it: 'For Judah and for the children of Israel associated with him.' Then take another stick and write on it: 'For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and all the house of Israel associated with him.' ¹⁷Then join them together into one stick, so that they become one in your hand. ¹⁸And when the children of your people say to you, 'Won't you tell us what you mean by these?' ¹⁹tell them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am taking the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel associated with him; and I will put them together with the stick of Judah, and I will make them into one stick, and they will become one in My hand.' ²⁰The sticks on which you write will be in your hand before their eyes. ²¹And say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am taking the children of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and I will gather them from all around and bring them into their own land. ²²I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel, and one king will be king over all of them. They will no longer be two nations, and they will no longer be divided into two kingdoms. ²³They will no longer defile themselves with their idols, with their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions. I will save them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God. ²⁴My servant David will be king over them, and there will be one shepherd for all of them. They will walk in my ordinances, and keep my statutes, and do them. ²⁵They will dwell in the land that I gave to my servant Jacob, in which your fathers lived. They will dwell in it—they, their children, and their children's children forever; and my servant David will be their prince forever. ²⁶I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them. I will establish them and multiply them, and I will set my sanctuary among them forever. ²⁷My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people. ²⁸Then the nations will know that I am YHWH who sanctifies Israel, when my sanctuary is among them forever.'
