Ezekiel 26:1-21Prophecy Against Tyre

Ezek.26.1-21
1In the eleventh year , on the first day of the month, the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 2Son of man, because Tyre has said concerning Jerusalem, “Aha! The gateway of the peoples is broken; it has swung open to me. I will be filled, now that she is laid waste,” 3therefore this is what the Lord Yahweh says: "Behold, I am against you, O Tyre, and I will bring up many nations against you, just as the sea brings up its waves. 4They will destroy the walls of Tyre and tear down her towers. I will scrape her soil from her and make her a bare rock. 5She will become a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea, for I have spoken,“ declares the Lord Yahweh. ”She will become plunder for the nations, 6and her villages in the countryside will be put to the sword. Then they will know that I am Yahweh." 7For this is what the Lord Yahweh says: "Behold, I will bring against Tyre from the north Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, with horses, chariots, cavalry, and a great company of troops. 8He will put your villages in the countryside to the sword. He will set up a siege wall against you, build a ramp against you, and raise a wall of shields against you. 9He will direct the blows of his battering rams against your walls, and he will tear down your towers with his axes. 10Because of the abundance of his horses, their dust will cover you. Your walls will shake at the noise of the cavalry, wagons, and chariots, when he enters your gates as men enter a breached city. 11With the hooves of his horses he will trample all your streets. He will kill your people with the sword, and your mighty pillars will fall to the ground. 12They will plunder your wealth and loot your merchandise. They will tear down your walls and destroy your delightful houses. They will throw your stones, your timber, and your soil into the midst of the water. 13I will put an end to the noise of your songs, and the sound of your lyres will be heard no more. 14I will make you a bare rock; you will become a place for the spreading of nets. You will never be rebuilt, for I, Yahweh, have spoken," declares the Lord Yahweh. 15This is what the Lord Yahweh says to Tyre: "Will not the coastlands shake at the sound of your fall, when the wounded groan, when the slaughter occurs in your midst? 16Then all the princes of the sea will step down from their thrones, remove their robes, and strip off their embroidered garments. They will clothe themselves with trembling; they will sit on the ground, tremble every moment, and be appalled at you. 17They will take up a lament for you and say to you: 'How you have perished, you who were inhabited by seafaring men, the renowned city! She was mighty on the sea, she and her inhabitants, who imposed their terror on all who lived there! 18Now the coastlands tremble on the day of your fall; the islands in the sea are dismayed at your departure.'" 19For this is what the Lord Yahweh says: "When I make you a desolate city, like cities that are no longer inhabited, when I bring up the deep over you and the mighty waters cover you, 20then I will bring you down with those who descend to the Pit, to the people of antiquity. I will make you dwell in the lower parts of the earth, like the ancient ruins, with those who descend to the Pit, so that you will not be inhabited; but I will set glory in the land of the living. 21I will make you an object of terror, and you will be no more . You will be sought, but you will never be found again," declares the Lord Yahweh.
