Ezekiel 25:1-17 — Prophecy Against Ammon, Moab, Edom, Philistia
Ezek.25.1-17
1The word of the LORD came to me , saying, 2"Son of man, set your face toward the Ammonites, and prophesy against them. 3Say to the Ammonites, 'Hear the word of the Lord GOD! Thus says the Lord GOD: Because you said, “Aha!” against my sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into exile; 4therefore, behold, I am giving you to the people of the East as a possession. They will set up their encampments among you and make their dwellings among you; they will eat your fruit and they will drink your milk. 5I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels, and the Ammonites a resting place for flocks. Then you will know that I am the LORD. 6For thus says the Lord GOD: Because you clapped your hands and stamped your feet, and rejoiced with all the contempt in your soul against the land of Israel; 7therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand against you, and I will give you as plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples and make you perish from the countries. I will destroy you, and you will know that I am the LORD.' 8“Thus says the Lord GOD: 'Because Moab and Seir said, ”Behold, the house of Judah is like all the nations," 9therefore, behold , I am opening the flank of Moab, from its cities, from its frontier cities, the splendor of the land: Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim. 10I will give it, along with the Ammonites, to the people of the East as a possession, so that the Ammonites will not be remembered among the nations. 11And I will execute judgments on Moab. Then they will know that I am the LORD.' 12"Thus says the Lord GOD: 'Because Edom acted against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and incurred grievous guilt by taking revenge on them, 13therefore thus says the Lord GOD: I will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off from it man and beast. I will make it a wasteland from Teman, and they will fall by the sword as far as Dedan. 14I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they will deal with Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath. Then they will know my vengeance, declares the Lord GOD.' 15"Thus says the Lord GOD: 'Because the Philistines acted in vengeance, and took revenge with contempt in their souls to destroy with perpetual hostility, 16therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am stretching out my hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites and destroy the remnant of the seacoast. 17I will execute great acts of vengeance upon them with wrathful rebukes. Then they will know that I am the LORD , when I lay my vengeance upon them.'"
