Ezekiel 15:1-8Jerusalem, a Useless Vine

Ezek.15.1-8
1The word of Yahweh came to me , saying, 2“Son of man, how does the wood of the vine surpass any other wood, the vine branch that is among the trees of the forest? 3Can wood be taken from it to make anything useful? Or can they take a peg from it to hang any vessel on it? 4Behold, it is given to the fire for fuel; the fire consumes both of its ends, and its middle is charred. Can it be useful for any work? 5Behold, when it was intact, it was not made into anything useful. How much less, when the fire has consumed it and it is charred, can it still be made into anything useful?” 6Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: “Just as the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so I will give up the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 7And I will set my face against them . Though they have come out from the fire, the fire will yet consume them. And you will know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them. 8And I will make the land a desolation, because they have acted unfaithfully,” declares the Lord Yahweh.
