Exodus 29:1-46Consecration of the Priests

Exod.29.1-46
1Now this is the thing that you shall do to them to consecrate them to serve as priests to me: Take one young bull and two rams without blemish, 2and unleavened bread, and unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil; you shall make them of fine wheat flour. 3And you shall put them into one basket, and present them in the basket, along with the bull and the two rams. 4And you shall present Aaron and his sons at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, and you shall wash them with water. 5And you shall take the garments, and clothe Aaron with the tunic, and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastpiece, and you shall fasten the ephod on him with the skillfully woven band of the ephod. 6And you shall set the turban on his head, and put the holy diadem on the turban. 7And you shall take the anointing oil, and pour it on his head, and anoint him. 8And you shall present his sons, and clothe them with tunics. 9And you shall wrap them with sashes, Aaron and his sons, and bind headbands on them. And the priesthood shall be theirs by a perpetual statute. Thus you shall ordain Aaron and his sons. 10And you shall present the bull before the Tent of Meeting, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the bull. 11And you shall slaughter the bull before the LORD at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. 12And you shall take some of the blood of the bull and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and you shall pour out all the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. 13And you shall take all the fat that covers the entrails, and the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, and burn them into smoke on the altar. 14But the flesh of the bull, and its skin, and its dung, you shall burn with fire outside the camp; it is a sin offering. 15And you shall take the one ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram. 16And you shall slaughter the ram, and you shall take its blood and splash it against the altar all around. 17And you shall cut the ram into its pieces, and wash its entrails and its legs, and put them with its pieces and with its head. 18And you shall burn the whole ram into smoke on the altar; it is a burnt offering to the LORD, a pleasing aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD. 19And you shall take the second ram, and Aaron and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram. 20And you shall slaughter the ram, and take some of its blood, and put it on the lobe of Aaron's right ear, and on the lobe of the right ear of his sons, and on the thumb of their right hand, and on the big toe of their right foot, and splash the blood against the altar all around. 21And you shall take some of the blood that is on the altar, and some of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aaron and on his garments, and on his sons and on the garments of his sons with him. And he shall be consecrated, and his garments, and his sons, and the garments of his sons with him. 22And you shall take from the ram the fat, and the fat tail, and the fat that covers the entrails, and the lobe of the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, and the right thigh—for it is a ram of ordination— 23and one loaf of bread, and one cake of bread made with oil, and one wafer, out of the basket of unleavened bread that is before the LORD. 24And you shall put all of these on the palms of Aaron and on the palms of his sons, and you shall wave them as a wave offering before the LORD. 25And you shall take them from their hands, and burn them into smoke on the altar upon the burnt offering, for a pleasing aroma before the LORD; it is an offering made by fire to the LORD. 26And you shall take the breast of the ram of Aaron's ordination, and wave it as a wave offering before the LORD, and it shall be your portion. 27And you shall consecrate the breast of the wave offering, and the thigh of the contribution, which is waved and which is lifted up, from the ram of ordination, from that which is for Aaron and from that which is for his sons. 28And it shall be for Aaron and his sons as a perpetual due from the sons of Israel, for it is a contribution. And it shall be a contribution from the sons of Israel from the sacrifices of their peace offerings, their contribution to the LORD. 29And the holy garments that are for Aaron shall be for his sons after him, to be anointed in them and to be ordained in them. 30For seven days the priest who succeeds him from among his sons shall wear them, when he comes into the Tent of Meeting to minister in the holy place. 31And you shall take the ram of ordination and boil its flesh in a holy place. 32And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram and the bread that is in the basket, at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. 33And they shall eat those things by which atonement was made, to ordain them and to consecrate them; but an outsider shall not eat of them, for they are holy. 34And if any of the flesh of the ordination or of the bread remains until the morning, then you shall burn the remainder with fire; it shall not be eaten, for it is holy. 35And thus you shall do to Aaron and to his sons, according to all that I have commanded you; for seven days you shall ordain them. 36And every day you shall offer a bull as a sin offering for atonement. And you shall purify the altar when you make atonement for it, and you shall anoint it to consecrate it. 37For seven days you shall make atonement for the altar and consecrate it, and the altar shall be most holy; whatever touches the altar will become holy. 38Now this is what you shall offer on the altar: two lambs a year old, day by day continually. 39The one lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the second lamb you shall offer at twilight ; 40and a tenth of an ephah of fine flour mixed with a fourth of a hin of beaten oil, and a drink offering of a fourth of a hin of wine, for the one lamb. 41And the second lamb you shall offer at twilight; according to the grain offering of the morning and according to its drink offering you shall offer with it, for a pleasing aroma, an offering made by fire to the LORD. 42It shall be a continual burnt offering throughout your generations at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting before the LORD, where I will meet with you, to speak to you there. 43And I will meet with the sons of Israel there, and it shall be consecrated by my glory. 44And I will consecrate the Tent of Meeting and the altar; and Aaron and his sons I will consecrate to serve as priests to me. 45And I will dwell among the sons of Israel, and I will be their God. 46And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt so that I might dwell among them; I am the LORD their God.
