Exodus 25:1-22 — Offerings for the Tabernacle and the Ark

Exod.25.1-22

¹Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ²“Speak to the Israelites, that they take an offering for Me. From every person whose heart makes him willing, you shall take My offering. ³And this is the offering that you shall take from them: gold, silver, and bronze; ⁴blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, fine linen, and goat hair; ⁵ram skins dyed red, fine leather, and acacia wood; ⁶oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; ⁷onyx stones, and stones to be set for the ephod and for the breastpiece. ⁸And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. ⁹Exactly according to all that I am showing you—the pattern of the tabernacle and the pattern of all its furnishings—so you shall make it. ¹⁰“They shall make an ark of acacia wood; two and a half cubits shall be its length, a cubit and a half its width, and a cubit and a half its height. ¹¹You shall overlay it with pure gold; inside and outside you shall overlay it, and you shall make a gold molding around it. ¹²You shall cast four gold rings for it and put them on its four feet: two rings on its one side, and two rings on its second side. ¹³You shall make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. ¹⁴You shall insert the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark, to carry the ark with them. ¹⁵The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be removed from it. ¹⁶And you shall put into the ark the Testimony , which I will give you. ¹⁷You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold; two and a half cubits shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its width. ¹⁸You shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work you shall make them, at the two ends of the mercy seat. ¹⁹Make one cherub at one end, and one cherub at the other end; of one piece with the mercy seat you shall make the cherubim at its two ends. ²⁰The cherubim shall spread out their wings upward, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, with their faces toward one another; the faces of the cherubim shall be toward the mercy seat. ²¹You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and into the ark you shall put the Testimony, which I will give you. ²²There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the Testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will command you for the Israelites.”
