Mark 2:1-12 — Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralyzed Man
Mark.2.1-12
1And when he entered Capernaum again after some days , people heard that he was at home. 2And many were gathered together, so that there was no longer room, not even at the door, and he was speaking the word to them. 3And they came, bringing to him a paralyzed man carried by four men. 4And since they were unable to bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, they removed the roof where he was. After digging through it, they lowered the mat on which the paralyzed man was lying. 5And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralyzed man, “Son, your sins are forgiven .” 6But some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, 7“Why does this man speak like this? He is blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?” 8And immediately Jesus, perceiving in his spirit that they were reasoning this way within themselves, said to them, "Why are you reasoning these things in your hearts? 9Which is easier, to say to the paralyzed man, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Get up , pick up your mat, and walk'? 10But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins on earth " —he said to the paralyzed man, 11“I say to you, get up, pick up your mat, and go to your house.” 12And he got up, and immediately picked up his mat and went out in front of them all, so that they were all amazed and glorified God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”
