Mark 15:42-47The Burial of Jesus

Mark.15.42-47
42By now evening had come, and since it was Preparation Day—that is, the day before the Sabbath— 43Joseph of Arimathea came, a respected member of the Council, who was himself also waiting for the kingdom of God. Taking courage, he went in to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. 44Pilate was surprised that he was already dead, and summoning the centurion, he asked him whether he had been dead for some time. 45And after learning it from the centurion, he granted the dead body to Joseph. 46After buying a linen cloth, he took him down, wrapped him in the linen cloth, and laid him in a tomb hewn out of rock. Then he rolled a stone against the entrance of the tomb. 47Meanwhile, Mary Magdalene and Mary of Joses kept watching where he had been laid.
