Mark 10:1-12 — Divorce

Mark.10.1-12

¹And setting out from there, he comes into the region of Judea and beyond the Jordan, and crowds come together to him again, and as was his custom, he was teaching them again. ²And Pharisees came up and were asking him if it is lawful for a man to divorce his wife, testing him. ³And answering, he said to them, “What did Moses command you?” ⁴And they said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and to divorce her.” ⁵But Jesus said to them, "Because of your hardness of heart he wrote this commandment for you. ⁶But from the beginning of creation, 'He made them male and female.' ⁷'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother , ⁸and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one flesh. ⁹Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." ¹⁰And in the house the disciples were asking him again concerning this . ¹¹And he says to them, "Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. ¹²And if she , after divorcing her husband, marries another , she commits adultery."
