Mark 11:1-11 — Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King
Mark.11.1-11
1When they came near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples 2and said to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and as soon as you enter it, you will find a young donkey tied there, on which no one has yet sat . Untie it and bring it .” 3If anyone say s to you, 'Why are you doing this?' say, 'The Lord has need of it, and sends it back here at once .'" 4So they went and found a young donkey tied at a door outside in the street, and they untied it. 5Some of those standing there said to them, “What are you doing, untying the young donkey?” 6They said to them just as Jesus had said, and they allowed them to take it. 7They brought the young donkey to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it, and he sat on it. 8And many spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy layers cut from the fields . 9Those going ahead and those following were crying out, “Hosanna ! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” 10“Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!” 11And he entered Jerusalem and went into the temple courts. After looking around at everything, since it was already late in the day, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.
