Mark 14:43-52 — Jesus Arrested
Mark.14.43-52
43And immediately, while he was still speaking, Judas , one of the Twelve, arrived, and with him a crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders. 44Now his betrayer had given them a pre-arranged signal, saying, “Whomever I kiss, he is the one; arrest him and lead him away securely.” 45And when he came, he immediately went up to him and said, “Rabbi !” and kissed him fervently. 46Then they laid hands on him and arrested him. 47But a certain one of the bystanders drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. 48And responding, Jesus said to them, "Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest me as you would against a robber? 49Every day I was with you in the temple teaching, and you did not arrest me. But this has happened so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled." 50And after deserting him, they all fled. 51And a certain young man was following him, wearing a linen cloth over his naked body; and they seized him , 52but leaving the linen cloth behind, he fled naked.
