Leviticus 26:14-46Punishments for Disobedience

Lev.26.14-46
14But if you will not listen to me , and do not perform all these commandments, 15and if you reject my statutes, and if your soul abhors my ordinances, so that you do not perform all my commandments, thereby breaking my covenant, 16then I also will do this to you: I will appoint sudden terror over you, wasting disease and fever that will destroy the eyes and drain away the life. You will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will eat it. 17I will set my face against you, and you will be struck down before your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee when no one pursues you. 18And if in spite of these things you still will not listen to me, then I will add to discipline you sevenfold for your sins. 19I will break the pride of your power, and I will make your sky like iron and your land like bronze . 20Your strength will be spent in vain, for your land will not yield its produce, and the trees of the land will not yield their fruit. 21If you walk in hostility toward me and are not willing to listen to me, then I will add a sevenfold blow upon you according to your sins. 22I will send the wild animals of the field among you, which will bereave you of your children, destroy your livestock, and reduce your numbers, so that your roads will become desolate. 23And if by these things you will not be disciplined by me, but walk in hostility toward me, 24then I also will walk in hostility toward you, and I, even I, will strike you sevenfold for your sins. 25I will bring a sword upon you that will execute the vengeance of the covenant. When you are gathered together into your cities, I will send a plague among you, and you will be given into the hand of the enemy. 26When I break your staff of bread, ten women will bake your bread in a single oven , and they will return your bread by weight; and you will eat, but not be satisfied. 27And if in spite of this you will not listen to me, but walk in hostility toward me, 28then I will walk in furious hostility toward you, and I, even I, will discipline you sevenfold for your sins. 29You will eat the flesh of your sons, and you will eat the flesh of your daughters. 30I will destroy your high places , cut down your incense altars, and cast your corpses upon the corpses of your idols; and my soul will abhor you. 31I will lay your cities waste and bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I will not smell the pleasing aroma of your sacrifices. 32I myself will lay the land desolate, so that your enemies who settle in it will be appalled at it. 33And I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw out a sword after you; your land will become a desolation, and your cities will become a waste. 34Then the land will enjoy its Sabbaths all the days it lies desolate, while you are in the land of your enemies; then the land will rest and enjoy its Sabbaths. 35All the days it lies desolate it will have rest, the rest it did not have during your Sabbaths when you lived on it. 36As for those of you who survive, I will bring faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; the sound of a driven leaf will put them to flight, and they will flee as one flees from the sword, and they will fall when no one pursues. 37They will stumble over one another as if fleeing from a sword, though no one pursues; and you will have no power to stand before your enemies. 38You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will consume you. 39Those of you who survive will waste away in their iniquity in the lands of your enemies; and also in the iniquities of their fathers they will waste away with them. 40But if they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, in their treachery which they committed against me, and also that they walked in hostility toward me— 41so that I also walked in hostility toward them and brought them into the land of their enemies—if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and they then pay for their iniquity, 42then I will remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham I will remember; and I will remember the land. 43For the land will be abandoned by them, and it will enjoy its Sabbaths while it lies desolate without them; and they will pay for their iniquity, because, even because they rejected my ordinances, and their soul abhorred my statutes. 44Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, nor will I abhor them so as to destroy them utterly, breaking my covenant with them; for I am the LORD their God. 45But I will remember for their sake the covenant with their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God: I am the LORD. 46These are the statutes, the ordinances, and the laws that the LORD established between himself and the children of Israel on Mount Sinai by the hand of Moses.
