Leviticus 15:1-33 — Bodily Discharges
Lev.15.1-33
1Yahweh spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying: 2"Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'When any man has a discharge from his body, his discharge is unclean. 3And this shall be his uncleanness in his discharge: whether his body runs with his discharge, or his body is blocked from his discharge, it is his uncleanness. 4Every bed on which the one with a discharge lies will be unclean, and every object on which he sits will be unclean. 5Anyone who touches his bed must wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 6Whoever sits on the object on which the one with a discharge sat must wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 7Whoever touches the body of the one with a discharge must wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 8If the one with a discharge spits on someone who is clean, then that person must wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 9Any saddle on which the one with a discharge rides will be unclean. 10Whoever touches anything that was under him will be unclean until evening, and whoever carries those things must wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 11Anyone whom the one with a discharge touches without having rinsed his hands in water must wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 12Any clay vessel that the one with a discharge touches must be broken, and every wooden vessel must be rinsed in water. 13When the one with a discharge is cleansed from his discharge, he must count seven days for his cleansing, wash his clothes, and bathe his body in fresh water, and he will be clean. 14On the eighth day he must take two turtledoves or two young pigeons, come before Yahweh to the entrance of the tent of meeting, and give them to the priest. 15The priest shall offer them, one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. Thus the priest will make atonement for him before Yahweh for his discharge. 16If a man has an emission of semen, he must bathe his whole body in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 17Every garment and every piece of leather on which there is an emission of semen must be washed with water, and it will be unclean until evening. 18If a man lies with a woman and there is an emission of semen, both must bathe in water, and they will be unclean until evening. 19When a woman has a discharge, and her discharge in her body is blood, she will be in her menstrual impurity for seven days, and whoever touches her will be unclean until evening. 20Everything on which she lies during her menstrual impurity will be unclean, and everything on which she sits will be unclean. 21Whoever touches her bed must wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 22Whoever touches any object on which she sits must wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 23If it is on the bed or on the object on which she sits, when he touches it, he will be unclean until evening. 24If a man lies with her and her menstrual impurity gets on him, he will be unclean for seven days, and every bed on which he lies will be unclean. 25If a woman has a discharge of her blood for many days outside the time of her menstrual impurity, or if she has a discharge beyond her menstrual impurity, all the days of her unclean discharge will be like the days of her menstrual impurity; she is unclean. 26Every bed on which she lies all the days of her discharge will be to her like the bed of her menstrual impurity, and every object on which she sits will be unclean, like the uncleanness of her menstrual impurity. 27Whoever touches them will be unclean, and he must wash his clothes and bathe in water, and he will be unclean until evening. 28When she is cleansed from her discharge, she must count seven days for herself, and after that she will be clean. 29On the eighth day she must take two turtledoves or two young pigeons and bring them to the priest, to the entrance of the tent of meeting. 30The priest shall offer one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering. Thus the priest will make atonement for her before Yahweh for her unclean discharge. 31Thus you shall keep the Israelites separate from their uncleanness, so that they do not die in their uncleanness by defiling my tabernacle that is among them. 32This is the law for the one with a discharge, and for the man who has an emission of semen so that he is unclean by it, 33and for the woman who is in her menstrual impurity , and for anyone who has a discharge, whether male or female, and for a man who lies with an unclean woman.'
