Deuteronomy 30:1-20Prosperity After Repentance; The Offer of Life or Death

Deut.30.1-20
1And when all these things come upon you—the blessing and the curse that I have set before you—and you take them to heart among all the nations where Yahweh your God has driven you, 2and you return to Yahweh your God and listen to his voice according to all that I am commanding you today, you and your children, with all your heart and with all your soul, 3then Yahweh your God will restore your fortunes and have compassion on you, and he will gather you again from all the peoples where Yahweh your God has scattered you. 4Even if your outcasts are at the ends of the heavens, from there Yahweh your God will gather you, and from there he will take you back. 5Yahweh your God will bring you into the land that your fathers possessed, and you will possess it; and he will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. 6Yahweh your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, so that you will love Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live. 7Yahweh your God will put all these curses on your enemies and on those who hate you, who persecuted you. 8And you shall again listen to the voice of Yahweh and do all his commandments that I am commanding you today. 9Yahweh your God will make you abundantly prosperous in all the work of your hands, in the fruit of your womb, in the offspring of your livestock, and in the produce of your ground. For Yahweh will again delight in prospering you, as he delighted in your fathers, 10if you listen to the voice of Yahweh your God by keeping his commandments and his statutes written in this Book of the Law, if you return to Yahweh your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 11For this command that I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you, and it is not far away. 12It is not in heaven, so that you should say, 'Who will ascend to heaven for us and bring it to us and let us hear it, that we may do it?' 13And it is not beyond the sea, so that you should say, 'Who will cross over the sea for us and bring it to us and let us hear it, that we may do it?' 14But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, so that you may do it. 15See, I have set before you today life and good, and death and evil. 16What I am commanding you today is this: love Yahweh your God, walk in his ways, and keep his commandments, his statutes, and his judgments, so that you may live and multiply, and Yahweh your God may bless you in the land that you are entering to possess. 17But if your heart turns away and you do not listen, and you are drawn away and bow down to other gods and serve them, 18I declare to you today that you will surely perish; you will not live long in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess. 19I call heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, 20loving Yahweh your God, listening to his voice, and clinging to him; for he is your life and the length of your days, that you may dwell in the land that Yahweh swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
