Deuteronomy 15:19-23 — The Firstborn Animals
Deut.15.19-23
19Every firstborn male born among your herd and your flock you shall set apart to Yahweh your God . You shall do no work with the firstborn of your ox, and you shall not shear the firstborn of your flock. 20Before Yahweh your God you shall eat it every year in the place that Yahweh will choose, you and your household. 21But if that firstborn animal has any defect, if it is lame or blind, any serious defect whatever, you shall not sacrifice it to Yahweh your God. 22Within your gates you shall eat it; the unclean person and the clean alike may eat it, as they would a gazelle or a deer. 23Only, you shall not eat its blood ; you shall pour it out on the ground like water.
