Numbers 9:15-23 — The Cloud Above the Tabernacle

Num.9.15-23

¹⁵On the day the Tabernacle was set up , the cloud covered the Tabernacle, the Tent of the Testimony; and in the evening it was over the Tabernacle like the appearance of fire until morning. ¹⁶So it was continually: the cloud covered it, and by night it had the appearance of fire. ¹⁷Whenever the cloud was lifted from above the Tent, afterward the Israelites would set out; and at the place where the cloud settled, there the Israelites would camp. ¹⁸At the command of the LORD the Israelites would set out, and at the command of the LORD they would camp. As long as the cloud remained over the Tabernacle, they remained camped. ¹⁹Even when the cloud lingered over the Tabernacle for many days, the Israelites kept the LORD's charge and did not set out. ²⁰Sometimes the cloud remained over the Tabernacle for a few days; at the command of the LORD they would camp, and at the command of the LORD they would set out. ²¹Sometimes the cloud remained from evening until morning; when the cloud was lifted in the morning, they set out. Or if it remained for a day and a night, when the cloud was lifted, they set out. ²²Whether it was two days, a month, or longer , while the cloud remained over the Tabernacle, resting upon it, the Israelites would stay camped and would not set out; but when it was lifted, they would set out. ²³At the command of the LORD they camped, and at the command of the LORD they set out; they kept the LORD's charge, at the command of the LORD through Moses.
