Numbers 15:32-41 — Sabbath-Breaker Put to Death; Tassels
Num.15.32-41
32While the Israelites were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day. 33Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses, to Aaron, and to the whole congregation. 34They placed him in custody, because it had not been declared what should be done to him. 35Then the LORD said to Moses, “The man must surely be put to death. The whole congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp.” 36So the whole congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, and he died, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. 37The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, 38"Speak to the Israelites and say to them that they must make for themselves tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations, and they shall put a blue cord on the tassel of each corner. 39It shall be a tassel for you, so that you may look at it and remember all the commandments of the LORD and do them, and that you do not follow after your own heart and your own eyes, after which you play the prostitute , 40in order that you may remember and do all My commandments, and be holy to your God. 41I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God; I am the LORD your God."
