Numbers 6:1-21The Nazirite Vow

Num.6.1-21
1Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying: 2"Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'When a man or a woman makes a special vow, the vow of a Nazirite, to separate himself to Yahweh, 3he shall separate himself from wine and strong drink. He shall drink no vinegar made from wine or vinegar made from strong drink, nor shall he drink any juice of grapes, nor eat fresh grapes or dried. 4All the days of his separation he shall eat nothing that is produced by the grapevine, from the seeds even to the skins. 5All the days of his vow of separation no razor shall pass over his head. Until the days are fulfilled for which he separates himself to Yahweh, he shall be holy; he shall let the locks of the hair of his head grow long. 6All the days that he separates himself to Yahweh he shall not go near a dead body. 7Even for his father or his mother, for his brother or his sister, he shall not defile himself when they die, because the separation to his God is upon his head. 8All the days of his separation he is holy to Yahweh. 9If someone dies very suddenly beside him, and he defiles his head of separation, then he shall shave his head on the day of his cleansing; on the seventh day he shall shave it. 10And on the eighth day he shall bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons to the priest, to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting. 11The priest shall offer one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering, and make atonement for him, because he sinned by reason of the dead body. And he shall consecrate his head on that same day. 12He shall rededicate to Yahweh the days of his separation, and shall bring a male lamb a year old for a guilt offering; but the former days shall be void, because his separation was defiled. 13This is the law of the Nazirite: on the day when the days of his separation are fulfilled, he shall be brought to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, 14and he shall present his offering to Yahweh: one male lamb a year old without blemish for a burnt offering, and one ewe lamb a year old without blemish for a sin offering, and one ram without blemish for peace offerings, 15and a basket of unleavened bread, cakes of fine flour mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil, along with their grain offering and their drink offerings. 16The priest shall present them before Yahweh and shall offer his sin offering and his burnt offering. 17He shall offer the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings to Yahweh, with the basket of unleavened bread; the priest shall also offer its grain offering and its drink offering. 18The Nazirite shall shave his head of separation at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting, and shall take the hair of his head of separation and put it on the fire that is under the sacrifice of peace offerings. 19The priest shall take the boiled shoulder of the ram, and one unleavened cake out of the basket, and one unleavened wafer, and shall put them into the hands of the Nazirite, after he has shaved the hair of his separation. 20Then the priest shall wave them as a wave offering before Yahweh; this is a holy portion for the priest, together with the breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the contribution. After that the Nazirite may drink wine. 21This is the law of the Nazirite who vows his offering to Yahweh for his separation , in addition to whatever else he can afford. According to the vow that he vows, so he must do, based on the law of his separation.'
