Job 26:1-14 — Job's Reply to Bildad
Job.26.1-14
1Then Job answered and said: 2How have you helped one without power? How have you saved an arm without strength? 3How have you counseled one without wisdom? How abundantly you have made sound insight known! 4To whom have you spoken words? And whose breath came from you? 5The shades tremble beneath the waters, and those who dwell in them. 6Sheol is naked before him, and Abaddon has no covering. 7He stretches out the north over emptiness; he hangs the earth upon nothing. 8He binds up the waters in his thick clouds , and the cloud is not torn open beneath them. 9He covers the face of his throne ; he spreads his cloud over it. 10He has inscribed a circle on the face of the waters, at the boundary of light with darkness. 11The pillars of heaven tremble and are appalled at his rebuke. 12By his power he stilled the sea, and by his understanding he shattered Rahab. 13By his breath he made the heavens fair; his hand pierced the fleeing serpent. 14Behold, these are only the outskirts of his ways , and what a faint whisper we hear of him! But the thunder of his power—who can understand?
