Job 18:1-21Bildad's Second Speech

Job.18.1-21
1Then Bildad the Shuhite answered and said: 2How long will you all keep on with words? Understand, and afterward we will speak. 3Why are we counted like cattle? Why are we regarded as unclean in your eyes? 4You who tear yourself apart in anger—shall the earth be abandoned for your sake, or the rock be moved from its place? 5Indeed, the light of the wicked is extinguished, and the spark of his fire does not shine. 6The light in his tent grows dark, and his lamp above him is extinguished. 7His strong steps are shortened, and his own counsel throws him down. 8For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walks over its mesh. 9A trap seizes him by the heel; a snare holds him fast. 10A cord for him is hidden in the ground, and a trap for him lies on the path. 11Terrors frighten him on every side and drive him off at every step. 12His vigor is famished, and disaster stands ready at his side. 13It devours the parts of his skin; the firstborn of death devours his limbs. 14He is torn from the security of his tent and marched off to the king of terrors . 15What is not his dwells in his tent; sulfur is scattered over his dwelling. 16Below, his roots dry up, and above, his branches are cut off. 17His memory perishes from the earth, and no name remains for him in the open places. 18He is driven from light into darkness, and banished from the world. 19He has no offspring and no descendant among his people, and no survivor where he once lived. 20Those who come after are appalled at his day, and those who went before are seized with horror. 21Surely these are the dwellings of the evildoer, and this is the place of one who does not know God.
