Zechariah 12:1-14Jerusalem's Enemies to Be Destroyed

Zech.12.1-14
1An oracle, the word of the LORD concerning Israel. This is the declaration of the LORD, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him: 2Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup of reeling to all the surrounding peoples, and Judah too will be caught up in the siege against Jerusalem. 3On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples. All who try to lift it will badly injure themselves, and all the nations of the earth will gather against her. 4On that day, declares the LORD, I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness. But on the house of Judah I will keep my eyes open, while I strike every horse of the peoples with blindness. 5Then the leaders of Judah will say in their hearts, 'The inhabitants of Jerusalem are strength to me in the LORD of Hosts, their God.' 6On that day I will make the leaders of Judah like a firepot among wood and like a flaming torch among sheaves. They will consume all the surrounding peoples on the right and on the left, and Jerusalem will again dwell in her own place, in Jerusalem. 7The LORD will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem may not be exalted over Judah. 8On that day the LORD will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem. The one who stumbles among them on that day will be like David, and the house of David will be like God, like the angel of the LORD before them. 9On that day I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. 10And I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication, and they will look to me, the one they pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves bitterly for a firstborn. 11On that day the mourning in Jerusalem will be great, like the mourning of Hadad-rimmon in the plain of Megiddo . 12The land will mourn, clan by clan, separately: the clan of the house of David separately, and their women separately; the clan of the house of Nathan separately, and their women separately; 13the clan of the house of Levi separately, and their women separately; the clan of the Shimeites separately, and their women separately; 14all the remaining clans, clan by clan, separately, and their women separately.
