2 Chronicles 5:1-14The Ark Brought to the Temple

2Chr.5.1-14
1So all the work that Solomon had done for the house of the LORD was finished. Then Solomon brought in the things his father David had dedicated—the silver, the gold, and all the vessels—and put them in the treasuries of the house of God. 2Then Solomon assembled in Jerusalem the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes, and the leaders of the fathers' houses of the Israelites, to bring up the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD from the City of David, which is Zion. 3So all the men of Israel assembled before the king at the feast in the seventh month . 4And all the elders of Israel came, and the Levites took up the Ark. 5They brought up the Ark, the Tent of Meeting, and all the holy furnishings that were in the tent; the Levitical priests brought them up. 6King Solomon and the whole congregation of Israel who had assembled with him were before the Ark, sacrificing sheep and cattle too many to be counted or numbered. 7Then the priests brought the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, into the Holy of Holies, under the wings of the cherubim. 8For the cherubim spread out their wings over the place of the Ark, and the cherubim covered the Ark and its carrying poles from above. 9The carrying poles were so long that the ends of the poles could be seen from the front of the inner sanctuary, but they could not be seen from outside; and they are there to this day. 10There was nothing in the Ark except the two tablets that Moses put there at Horeb, where the LORD made a covenant with the people of Israel when they came out of Egypt. 11When the priests came out of the Holy Place—for all the priests who were present had consecrated themselves, without regard to their divisions— 12and the Levitical singers—all of them, Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and kinsmen—stood east of the altar, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps, and lyres; and with them were one hundred twenty priests blowing trumpets, 13and when the trumpeters and singers were as one, making one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they raised their voice with trumpets and cymbals and instruments for song, and praised the LORD, saying, “For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever,” then the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud, 14so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God.
