1 Timothy 6:3-10 — False Teachers and the Love of Money
1Tim.6.3-10
3If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and with the teaching that is according to godliness, 4he is conceited, understanding nothing, but has an unhealthy craving for controversies and disputes about words, from which come envy, strife, abusive talk, evil suspicions, 5and constant friction among people corrupted in mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain . 6But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7For we brought nothing into the world , and so neither can we carry anything out. 8So, having food and clothing, we will be content with these. 9But those who want to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge people into ruin and destruction. 10For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil . By craving it, some have strayed away from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.
