1 Timothy 1:12-20The Lord's Grace to Paul

1Tim.1.12-20
12I give thanks to Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because he considered me faithful, appointing me to service, 13though formerly I was a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an arrogant and violent man. But I was shown mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, 14and the grace of our Lord overflowed beyond measure, with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 15The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost. 16But for this reason I was shown mercy, so that in me, as the foremost, Christ Jesus might display his complete patience as a pattern for those who were going to believe in him for eternal life. 17Now to the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God , be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. 18This charge I entrust to you, child Timothy, in keeping with the prophecies previously made about you, so that by them you may wage the good warfare, 19holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting these, some have suffered shipwreck in regard to the faith; 20among whom are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan so that they may be disciplined not to blaspheme.
