Proverbs 11:1-31Proverbs of Solomon

Prov.11.1-31
1Deceitful scales are an abomination to the LORD, but an accurate weight is his delight. 2When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom. 3The integrity of the upright guides them, but the perversity of the treacherous destroys them. 4Wealth is of no profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death. 5The righteousness of the blameless makes their way straight, but the wicked will fall by their own wickedness. 6The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the treacherous are trapped by their own desires. 7When a wicked person dies, his hope perishes, and the expectation of the powerful comes to nothing. 8The righteous is delivered from trouble, and the wicked takes his place. 9With his mouth the godless destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous are delivered. 10When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices, and when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy. 11By the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is torn down. 12Whoever despises his neighbor lacks sense, but a person of understanding remains silent. 13A gossip goes about revealing secrets, but one who is trustworthy in spirit conceals a matter. 14Where there is no guidance, a nation falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is deliverance. 15Whoever puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer, but whoever hates striking hands in pledge is secure. 16A gracious woman attains honor, but ruthless men attain only riches. 17A kind person benefits his own soul, but a cruel person brings trouble on his own flesh. 18The wicked earns deceptive wages, but the one who sows righteousness reaps a true reward. 19Genuine righteousness leads to life, but whoever pursues evil goes to his own death. 20Those with a crooked heart are an abomination to the LORD, but those whose ways are blameless are his delight. 21Assuredly, the evil person will not go unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will be delivered. 22Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion. 23The desire of the righteous ends only in good, but the hope of the wicked brings wrath. 24One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds what is right, only to suffer want. 25A generous person will prosper, and whoever refreshes others will himself be refreshed. 26The people will curse the one who hoards grain, but a blessing will be upon the head of the one who sells it. 27Whoever diligently seeks good seeks favor, but whoever searches for evil, it will come to him. 28Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf. 29Whoever brings trouble on his own house will inherit the wind, and the fool will be a servant to the wise of heart. 30The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever wins souls is wise. 31If the righteous person is repaid on earth, how much more the wicked and the sinner!
