1 Peter 4:1-11 — Living for God
1Pet.4.1-11
1Therefore, since Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mindset, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2in order to live the remaining time in the flesh no longer for human desires, but for the will of God. 3For the time that has passed is sufficient to have carried out the desire of the Gentiles, having walked in sensuality, lusts, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatries. 4In all this, they are surprised that you do not run with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they malign you. 5They will give an account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6For to this end the gospel was preached even to the dead , so that though they might be judged in the flesh according to human standards, they might live in the spirit according to God. 7The end of all things is near. Therefore be clear-minded and sober for prayer . 8Above all , maintain constant love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. 9Be hospitable to one another without grumbling . 10Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of the varied grace of God. 11If anyone speaks, let him speak as conveying the oracles of God; if anyone serves, let him serve with the strength which God supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
