1 Peter 1:13-25 — Be Holy

1Pet.1.13-25

¹³Therefore, gird up the loins of your mind , be sober-minded, and set your hope fully on the grace that is being brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. ¹⁴As children of obedience, do not conform to the passions of your former ignorance, ¹⁵but according to the Holy One who called you, you yourselves also become holy in all your conduct, ¹⁶because it is written: “You shall be holy, because I am holy.” ¹⁷And if you call on the Father who judges impartially according to each one's work, then conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your stay as foreigners, ¹⁸knowing that you were redeemed from your empty way of life handed down from your fathers, not with perishable things like silver or gold, ¹⁹but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. ²⁰He was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed at the end of the times for your sake, ²¹who through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God. ²²Having purified your souls by obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brothers, love one another fervently from the heart , ²³since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of imperishable, through the living and abiding word of God. ²⁴For, "All flesh is like grass, and all its glory like the flower of the grass. The grass withered, and the flower fell, ²⁵but the word of the Lord remains forever." And this is the word that was proclaimed as good news to you.
