1 Peter 2:18-25Suffering for Doing Good

1Pet.2.18-25
18Household servants, submit to your masters with all reverent respect, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the unreasonable. 19For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God someone endures pain, suffering unjustly. 20For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten, you endure it? But if, when you do good and suffer, you endure it, this is commendable before God. 21For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his footsteps; 22who “committed no sin, nor was deceit found in his mouth”; 23who, when he was reviled, did not revile in return; when he was suffering, he made no threats, but entrusted himself to the one who judges justly; 24who himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that, having died to sins, we might live to righteousness; by whose wounds you were healed. 25For you were going astray like sheep , but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
